Recurring Tasks module deactivated, then reactivated. Any existing Recurring Tasks are lost!

Solved

We were doing some troubleshooting on ActiveCollab and had to deactivate the Recurring Tasks Module. When the module was reactivated, all of our Recurring Tasks (275 of them) did not reappear. Please let us know how to recover the recurring tasks.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Dale,

I think that you've updated activecollab to 3rd version when all 3rd party modules are deactivated.

If you didn't update to 3rd version and sure that Recurring Tasks module is deactivted (not uninstalled) you can reactivate module manually in database. Search for "modules table" and make sure "recurring_tasks" entry is presented in the table. If not, add it: recurring_tasks 0 0

If you uninstalled module, you can recover it from any backup available. You need to search for "project_objects" table. Make sure to uninstall Recurring tasks module before you expot that table from backup, where all project_objects are located

Hell Stas, we didn't update to the latest version. It is still on 2x. We were able to reactivate the module through the admin panel, and it appears and allows us to create new recurring tasks. However, the existing recurring tasks that we had prior to it getting deactivated didn't reappear when we reactivated the module.

Is there a way to make the recurring tasks that were created prior to deactivating the module reappear?

Thanks!

If you just deactivated and then activated module it's imposible to loose entries, until you just uninstalled module and installed it again. There is no option in activecollab to deactivate module, if you don't do it in database by deleting entry in modules table.

Please send access to your database support(at)uswebstyle.com and we'll take a look at database whether recurring tasks entries are there + preferably ftp access.

Also, please take a look whether you have any db backup available with backup module on server /work/backup/backup[date]/database.sql

Yea, that's what I meant. It was uninstalled via the admin panel, then reinstalled. If it was uninstalled, do the records get deleted?

We have backups. Can you tell me where I can look to see if the recurring task entries still exist and if there is a way for us to reactivate them if they do or if we restore from a backup?

If module was uninstalled, all records assigned to the module are deleted, and notification message appears when you click on uninstall it: "Are you sure you want to delete it?", so the only way to restore records is from backup.

As recurring tasks objects are stored in "project_objects" table, you need to restore from db backup only this table with the help of phpmyadmin. You'll loose all the tickets, discussions, miletones, files and pages after the backup was made after restore.

If you experience any problems, let us know via email to assit you.

Thanks for the info and quick replies. Is there anyway to just identify the recurring tasks records? This occurred about a week ago, and we can't lose a weeks worth of the other activities.

In "project_objects" table you need to take all records with type field "RecurringTask" or module field "recurring_tasks" and export them into your current db.

Make sure Recurring Tasks module is installed in current activecollab.

All these actions could be done with hpmyadmin and simple sql queries. You are welcome!
